To the Kinderhook Elks Family,
Welcome, November, as the leaves turn golden and the air grows crisp, we’re reminded that change can be beautiful—and that community is what keeps us warm. This season, our Lodge is alive with activity. Rentals are in full swing, and we need all hands on deck to keep things running smoothly. Please be sure to:
Keep your calendars updated
Check your emails regularly
Watch the lounge TVs and our Facebook page for the latest events and rental notices
Volunteers are essential to making these rentals successful. Whether you can lend a hand for setup, cleanup, or just offer a warm welcome, your time and presence make a real difference. Every act of service strengthens our Lodge family.
Marion Stegmann Delivery – Sign-Up Now Available. Ben has posted the detailed driver and helper sign-up sheet for assisting with Marion Stegmann’s upcoming delivery. You can find the sheet pinned on the Lodge bulletin board in the common area. This is a cherished tradition of giving—please consider signing up to help bring holiday joy to those in need.
Veterans Community Dinner – Tuesday, November 12th, 5–7 PM. This is one of our most meaningful events of the year—a chance to honor those who’ve served with a warm meal and heartfelt fellowship. We still need volunteers to help with setup, serving, and cleanup. Please sign up with Chris Akers or myself. Let’s show our veterans the love and appreciation they deserve.
To Our Members, Thank you. You are the heartbeat of this Lodge. Your dedication, kindness, and willingness to step up—again and again—are what make this place feel like home. I’m proud to stand beside you.
Shoutout to Our Committees. Your creativity and hard work continue to shine. From planning to execution, your efforts are the reason our events feel so special. The lodge is looking beautiful inside and out. Keep those ideas coming—we’re building something beautiful together.
LeeAnn, You Did It Again! The community baby shower was a huge success, thanks to your vision and heart. The number of new parents you’ve supported through this program keeps growing, and your impact is undeniable. A heartfelt thank-you to the Ghent VFW Auxiliary for your generous partnership and donations. Together, we’re lifting up families in need—and that’s what community is all about.
Chris Bellingham and Fish—You Rock! Thank you for stepping in to complete the Veterans Respite Area. From painting and railings to reseeding and retaining walls, your work has transformed the space into something truly special. If you haven’t seen it yet, stop by and take a look—it’s a labor of love, and it shows.
Barb is organizing bell ringers for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign, and she could use your help to make this season shine. If you’re able to lend a few hours to spread cheer and support a great cause, please reach out to Barb at 518-755-6616 to sign up. Every ring brings hope—let’s make it count!
Lodge Visitations, our visitations have wrapped up, and what a gift they’ve been. These gatherings are more than tradition—they’re a chance to learn, connect, and plan together. We’re part of a district filled with passionate, talented Elks who care deeply about our mission. Let’s keep that spirit alive.
Happy Thanksgiving! This season, I’m especially grateful for each of you—for your laughter, your generosity, and the memories we continue to make. May your holiday be filled with love, comfort, and wonderful memories.
This Is Your Lodge, use it. Support it. Celebrate it. Whether you’re volunteering, attending events, or simply spreading the word, you are helping this Lodge thrive. Let’s keep showing up for each other—with open hearts and helping hands.
With deep gratitude,
Exalted Ruler, Tammy McDermott
