On Sunday, January 24th, sevent new members were initiated at the Kinderhook Elks Lodge.
January 12th, 2016 - Vets' Birthday Party
Veterans from the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center were invited to our Lodge for a birthday celebration today. Since we can't throw a birthday party for each of them on their individual birthdays, we decided to celebrate all their birthdays together.
December 4th, 2015 - Blue Star Mothers
Kinderhook Elks Lodge #2530 presented the Hudson Valley Blue Star Mothers, NY10 Chapter, with care-package items and a check for $600 to assist with their efforts this Christmas.
September 22nd, 2015 - Vets' Fishing Day
On Tuesday morning, Kinderhook Elks Veterans' Committee welcomed 12 Veterans from the Albany VA Stratton Medical Center for some first-class fishing at the home of local resident John DeLong. The weather was just right and the fish were biting.
June 14th, 2015 - Flag Day Ceremony
The Flag Day Service was presented by the Kinderhook Elks Americanism Committee on Sunday, June 14th.
Elks have been performing this ceremony since 1911, long years before the date on which the observance became a nation-wide practice by legal decree

June 5th, 2015 - DARE Graduation
Friday, June 5th saw the DARE graduation and picnic at Ichabod Crane High School. Esteemed Leading Knight Robert J. Cramer was on stage with members of the County Sheriff's Office to congratulate the winners of the essay contest and the graduates from each class.
June 3rd, 2015 - Vets' Fishing Day
The Kinderhook Elks welcomed Veterans from the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center for another morning of fishing at the home of local resident John DeLong, who, once again, graciously offered the use of his pond.
May 30th, 2015 - Special Needs Prom
The Lodge hosted its Fourth Annual Special Needs Prom on Saturday, May 30th. Thirty-four attendees, aged 16 to 60, with nineteen caregivers traveled from as far away as Schenectady to join the festivities.
May 23rd, 2015 - Eagle Scout Award
At an Eagle Scout Award ceremony in the First Presbyterian Church, Valatie, ER Chris Akers presented recipient Shane Digan, of Boy Scout Troop 114, with a certificate, a check, and a US flag previously flown over the capital.
April 28th, 2015 - Veterans' Games Morning
On Tuesday, April 28th, two buses arrived from the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center bringing Veterans for a morning of pool, shuffleboard, air-hockey and darts. Many of the Vets were familiar faces, having attended the two fishing days organized by the Veterans Committee in 2014.
March 28th, 2015 - Installation of Officers
The 2015-2016 Lodge Officers were installed in a ceremony in the Lodge on Saturday afternoon.
March 28th, 2015 - Easter Bunny
This year's Easter Bunny event was moved inside the Kinderhook Village Hall due to snow and below-freezing temperatures.
The children were each treated to a bag of candy and a dish of ice cream. Many of them sat on the Easter Bunny's lap for a photo. They also entered the raffles for soft toys.
March 6th, 2015 - Wounded Warrior Snowfest
Loyal Knight Bob Cramer, Chaplain Chris Bellingham, and Veterans Committee member Jim Yager represented our lodge at the STRIDE Adaptive Sports Wounded Warrior Snowfest welcoming ceremony held at Troy NY.
America's Best Memorial T-Shirt
Kinderhook Elks Veterans Committee have been presented with a memorial T-Shirt for their continuing work with Veterans.
February 17th, 2015 - Community Dinner
On Tuesday evening, St. Luke's in Valatie hosted another Community Dinner. Every week the food is prepared and served by a local organization. This time it was the turn of the Kinderhook Elks PERs Association.
December 21st, 2014 - Veterans' Christmas Party
The Lodge Veterans Committee hosted a Christmas party at Barnwell nursing and rehabilitation center on Sunday 12/21/15.
December 20th, 2014 - Marion Stegmann
Each year, the Marion Stegmann Fund delivers food and gifts to needy families throughout Northern Columbia County. The work is split between the Kinderhook Elks and the Ghent VFW.
December 7th, 2014 - Ritual of Memorial Service
Sunday December 7th: Kinderhook Elks performed the Ritual of Memorial Service. This most solemn of the Elks services was attended by over 30 people.
December 6th, 2014 - Hoop Shoot
Saturday, December 6th: The 2014 Kinderhook Elks Hoop Shoot, organized by Mike Walsh, was held in the Ichabod Crane High School Gym. Winners will go on to the district finals in Hudson in January.
